A car accident in Orange County has resulted in the death of a 29 year old woman. The accident occurred in the City of Costa Mesa according to the Orange County Register. The Uber car that the victim was traveling in was hit by another vehicle.
A new law requires Uber and similar ride-sharing programs to maintain a $50,000.00 liability coverage per individual and $100,000.00 coverage per accident. Additionally, the Uber driver must carry a $30,000.00 coverage for property damage in certain circumstances. It is also reported that Uber maintains a commercial auto insurance that covers $1,000,000.00 in uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage per incident.
